Excursion destinations in the Black Forest

Schluchsee
Distance: 15 kilometers
You can go on a lake cruise with the Nikolaus steamer or hire a pedal boat or motorboat yourself. You can take a short walk along the lakeside promenade or a hike around the entire lake.
Rothaus
Distance: 12 kilometers – also possible with the cone card
Here you can visit the traditional state brewery where the famous Rothaus beer is brewed. Rothaus is also home to the Hüsli local history museum. The Schlühüwanapark nature trail and the Schlüchtsee lake invite you to discover and linger.
St. Blasien
Distance: 25 kilometers
Enjoy a lively little town with stylish stores and fine dining. The cityscape is impressively characterized by St. Blasius Cathedral.
Feldberg
Distance: 30 kilometers
The Feldberg is 1493 m above sea level. NHN the highest mountain in Baden-Württemberg. You can take the Feldbergbahn directly to the summit. Enjoy idyllic trails and magnificent panoramas on and around the Feldberg.
Titisee
Distance: 30 kilometers – also possible with the cone card
Lake Titisee with its lake road is one of the most famous excursion destinations in Germany. A boat trip in the shadow of the wooded mountains is just as much a must as buying one or two typical souvenirs, such as a cuckoo clock or Black Forest ham, which the typical Black Forest stores offer.
Rhine Falls of Schaffhausen (Switzerland)
Distance: 35 kilometers – Identity papers required
The Rhine Falls offer a magnificent natural spectacle. Visitors can walk around the basin, cross over the bridge above the Rhine Falls to the other side to Schloss Laufen, and from there walk to the ‘Känzeli’ viewing platform, the most spectacular vantage point directly on the water.
BLACKFORESTLINE suspension bridge
Distance: 40 kilometers
The 450-meter-long suspension bridge spans the Todtnau waterfalls. In the mountain world of Todtnau, the perspectives widen as the waterfall can be experienced in a new way on the Blackforestline.
Triberg waterfalls
Distance: 55 kilometers
Germany’s highest waterfalls in Triberg are a natural spectacle of a special kind. Foaming and roaring, the water of the Gutach plunges 163 m down. Experience a magnificent natural spectacle on the paths along the seven steps.
Fribourg
Distance: 60 kilometers – also possible with the cone card
Minster, brooks, delicacies and wine, paired with sustainability – all of this is Freiburg. The university city in southwest Germany is known for its mild climate and the reconstructed medieval city center, which is crisscrossed by small streams.
Constance
Distance: 90 kilometers
Constance, the largest city on Lake Constance, harmonizes culture and nature and combines tradition and modernity, quality of life and shopping. The historic old town with its picturesque alleyways is perfect for a leisurely shopping spree, the harbor with its southern flair and breathtaking lake and alpine backdrop is perfect for a stroll and the gastronomy is perfect for unlimited enjoyment.
